You need a business profile that is associated with your company on Facebook to connect your Instagram account.
1. Go to your Instagram profile.
2. Click on the "menu" icon (three horizontal lines) in the top right corner.
3. Select "Settings and Privacy", under "For Professionals" select "Account Type and Tools".
4. Select "Switch to professional account". Click "Continue."
5. Select a category for the business account and click "Done".
6. Select "Business" in the professional account type, and click "Next."
If you select a different account type you will not be able to connect Instagram.
7. Check the contact information, and click "Next".
8. Authorize on Facebook.
9. On the "Account center settings" page, Click "Next".
10. Confirm completion of the setup by clicking "Yes, add nickname".
How to create a Facebook page for your business
1. Go to the "Pages" section on the left side of your Facebook profile.
2. Click on "Create a Page" at the top of the left panel of the "Pages" section.
3. Write a page title select a category and click "Create Page". Click "Next" a few times and then click "Done". You now have a business page on Facebook.
Link an Instagram business account to a Facebook business page
1. Go to "Settings" on the left side of your Facebook business page.
2. Go to "Linked Accounts."
3. Select Instagram and click "Connect Account." In the pop-up window, select "Connect."
Set the slider to "Enabled" and click "Next". After a short download, your account details will load.
Be sure to enable the option "Allow access to messages from Instagram in the Inbox". Without it, the integration will not work.
Make sure it's enabled:
Go to Settings
Select "Privacy".
Select "Message" and enable "Allow access to messages".
