With UTM tags, you can determine the exact page on your website where a client decided to contact you. By understanding the client's journey, it becomes easier to optimize your website and generate more inquiries and requests.
You can collect UTM tags using our widget, as well as through the UTM Tag Collector. To do this, you need to generate a link and script, and then install them on your website.
Available communication channels for collecting UTM tags: Telegram Bot, WhatsApp, Viber Bot, E-mail.
Creating a Link and Script
To begin, you need to generate a link and script for installation on your website.
1. Log in to your ChatApp personal account.
2. In the left menu, click on "Widgets".
3. In the "Analytics" section, select "UTM Collector".
4. Enter a name for the widget.
5. Click on "Create Widget".
6. Click on "Add Link".
7. In the opened window, select the messenger.
8. Enter the messenger details:
- Username for Telegram Bot
- URI for Viber Bot
- Phone number for WhatsApp
9. Enter the text of the message that will be sent to you when a client clicks on the link.
10. At the end of the message, write {clientId}, as it is necessary to save the link.
11. Click "Save" in the pop-up window, then "Save" on the main page.
IMPORTANT: The prepared text can only be set for the following channels:
ViberBot
In TelegramBot, you cannot pass text, only {clientId}.
Installation on Your Website
You now have two links and a "Script tag". The "HTML" is needed to insert it into the HTML editor on your website. The URL can be inserted anywhere on your site if you use a website builder or any widget, such as Bitrix24. Thanks to the "Script tag", when a link is clicked, the UTM tag will be sent to your personal ChatApp account.
Copy the "Script tag" and place it at the bottom before the closing </body> tag. HTML and URL will not work without the script.
HTML Installation
Copy the HTML code and paste it anywhere on your website using the <a> tag.
If you add text at the end of the link between ">" and "</a>", the link will be disguised as that text. For example:
<a href="https://chatapp.online/utm-redirect?channel=WhatsApp&directionTo=79999999999&text=Hello! My request number is {clientId}" target="_blank">Click this link</a>
URL Installation
If you use a third-party widget or visual website builders, you can simply insert the link wherever convenient. Copy the URL and paste it, for example, on a button or in text.
